Hi everyone! I'm going to be using this blog to spread good cheer and encouragement en route to our December date with the finish line. Each week I'll include a summary of our Sunday run and some words about how we're doing.
Las Vegas in Motion meets every Sunday morning at the Village Runner in Henderson-- 217 N. Stephanie, to be precise. Here's a map, if you've never been there:

If you've just stumbled upon this blog and are looking to get in shape or prepare for the Rock and Roll Las Vegas Marathon, come and join us on Sundays. We usually meet at 6, but early and late in the season have been known to start at 7.
We are one of many pace groups training with Las Vegas in Motion. There are groups for the full and half-marathon at many paces, so whether you're planning to finish the race in 3:30 or a 5-hour run/walk, there should be a place where you can train comfortably.

Hello
ReplyDeleteI heard you had training runs in the NW area. Do you? And do you have training for total beginners? And how much?
Thank you
Diane
Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteThere is training in the NW and total beginners are welcome. I ran my first marathon last year, finished on pace and trained with this club.
Here are the details:
Where: Kellogg-Zaher Park (SE corner of Durango & Washignton by the Tennis Courts).
When: 7am Saturdays (eventually 6am when it gets hotter)
$80 if you ARE NOT now a member of the Las Vegas Track Club
$60 if you are currently a member of the Las Vegas Track Club
Fee covers pace leaders, training calendars, water and Gatorade stops on the training runs, post-training run drinks and snacks, etc. We've also had preferential corral starts and access to a pre- and post-race staging room in Mandalay Bay to securely stash your gear, not to mention all the new friends that make the training more fun.
